Network Engineer Expert, AI Evaluation (Remote, Contract, $80–$120/hr) — AfterQuery via AI Gig Scout

AfterQuery, an expert data lab that builds the evaluation and training data frontier AI labs use to measure their models, is hiring network engineers as independent contractors to author and grade routing, switching and troubleshooting scenarios. Pay is $80 to $120/hr, paid weekly via Stripe, with the rate set from your experience. Work is remote and fully async, with a minimum of 10 hours per week and no maximum.

What you will do: author realistic network scenarios, from design questions through outage troubleshooting; write reference answers with the design and troubleshooting reasoning behind each decision; grade model output for protocol accuracy and operational soundness; and flag configurations that read plausible but would break production networks.

Requirements: 2+ years of professional network engineering or network administration experience; hands-on experience with routing, switching and firewalls in production; depth in protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs and VPNs; clear written English; and at least 10 hours per week. Preferred: certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or JNCIA, network automation with Python or Ansible, and cloud networking experience across AWS, Azure or GCP.
