Software Engineer, Data Platforms (Remote, Full-time) — Micro1 via AI Gig Scout

micro1 is hiring a Software Engineer, Data Platforms, full-time and remote, to build its human data platforms. It is an AI-native fullstack role between traditional fullstack and research engineering: you own features end to end, from backend services and data pipelines to the React frontends experts use every day, with coding agents as your primary development workflow. The listed national base salary range is $120,000–$160,000 a year, plus equity eligibility and benefits.

What you will own: design and ship fullstack features across backend APIs, data pipelines and React frontends; own client-facing data delivery and platform infrastructure, including exports, access control and reliability; build and maintain services in Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript; contribute to data modeling, schema design and query performance across relational and document databases; improve the frameworks, checks and evals behind agent-driven development; and troubleshoot production issues while building resilient, observable systems.

What they are looking for: a CS or related degree or equivalent experience; 0–5 years of software engineering (or strong shipped projects as a recent graduate); strong Python and TypeScript with FastAPI/Flask and React; PostgreSQL, MongoDB or SQLite and data modeling; experience deploying services on GCP, AWS or Azure; coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) as your default workflow; and an understanding of agent loops, MCP, tool integrations, permissions, security, RAG and evals. Preferred: RL concepts, coding data pipelines, CI/CD and DevOps fundamentals.
